Facilities Review Update

Since October 2016, District 200 has gone through a process to review our facilities. This group is comprised of community members, administration, and staff, who have been engaged in a process of reviewing the current state of District 200 facilities along with examining future needs for facility utilization.

Updated Information About Facilities Review Committee

Please see below for a link to a letter from Superintendent Dr. Michael Moan regarding the district’s Facilities Review process. In addition, in order to provide information on the progress of the committee, a Community Forum meeting will be held on December 20, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Woodstock High School Auditorium.  If you have questions about the Facilities Review Committee, the meeting, or the process described in the letter, feel free to contact Dr. Moan’s office at 815-337-5406.

Welcome Back

Dear Parents,   On behalf of the entire Greenwood Elementary School Staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year.  The most important relationship, other than teacher and student, is the relationship the staff has with the parents involved in our school.  We cherish the relationships we have with all of the parents and guardians of students in our school.  We want to continue to build on these relationships as we move into this new school year.

Greenwood School Improvement Plan

Each year, in conjunction with the District 200 Executive Team, the Greenwood Teachers write and follow a School Improvement Plan.  The School Improvement Plan is directly connected to the District 200 Strategic Plan.  This year’s plan has five specific goals for the students, teachers and families of Greenwood Elementary School.

Some Ideas to Help Keep Our Kids Safe Online

Please monitor what your children are doing online.   We remind each student of the proper uses of online resources at the beginning of each school year and throughout the year.  We talk to them about never giving out personal information online and make sure that they always know who they are communicating with online.   See "Read more" below for a link to an internet safety site with some tips to think about in your home.
